Steve Eakins joins EVI Property Tax Services team

EVI has added another member to it’s growing valuations and property tax consulting in Steve Eakins.  Steve comes to us from a national valuation firm, with strong analytical and valuation skills in real property assessment.

Steve is an Honors graduate of Seneca College’s Real Property Assessment program, where he shared his skills tutoring his peers.  Along with his technical talents, Steve brings a “think out of the box” attitude, a zest for challenge and a passion for results!

EVI President Jeff Grad presents at AI Annual Meeting

EVI President Jeff Grad is going to Austin, TX to present at the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Appraisal Institute (US). The presentation will be on International Valuation Concerns with Mr. Bruce Greenberg, Managing Director of Real Estate for Deloitte MX, Mr. Mitch Creekmore of Stewart Title, and Daniel Gancz, Managing Partner of Gancz Abogados.

The IPTI Property Tax Summit – Niagara Falls, ON – April 18, 2012

The International Property Tax Institute teamed up with a whole host of partners to have a 1.5 day event looking at the current state of property tax in Ontario, as well as recommendations for change. Partners in the event were the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Municipal Finance Offers Association (MFOA) and the Ontario Municipal Tax and Revenue Association (OMTRA, formerly AMTCO). Participants from virtually every facet of the property tax industry were represented, including: Municipalities and their representatives, Taxpayers and their representatives, Assessors and their representatives, and the Assessment Review Board. IPTI has promised to provide a “white paper” in review of the conference for comment and presentation. It’s due to come out in late May/early June. Stay tuned!
