The IPTI Property Tax Summit – Niagara Falls, ON – April 18, 2012

The International Property Tax Institute teamed up with a whole host of partners to have a 1.5 day event looking at the current state of property tax in Ontario, as well as recommendations for change. Partners in the event were the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Municipal Finance Offers Association (MFOA) and the Ontario Municipal Tax and Revenue Association (OMTRA, formerly AMTCO). Participants from virtually every facet of the property tax industry were represented, including: Municipalities and their representatives, Taxpayers and their representatives, Assessors and their representatives, and the Assessment Review Board. IPTI has promised to provide a “white paper” in review of the conference for comment and presentation. It’s due to come out in late May/early June. Stay tuned!
